Irish activist and comedian Tadhg Hickey spoke to the press after his release from illegal detention by Israeli occupation forces.
He described being denied water, and how a fellow activist who is a 75-year-old diabetic man was refused insulin, a cruelty that could have cost him his life. These are just glimpses of the inhuman treatment faced by the flotilla activists.
But even this pales in comparison to what Palestinians have endured, not only since October 7, 2023, but since the Nakba of 1948, when their dispossession first began.
Today, over 10,000 Palestinians remain imprisoned by Israel, including around 3,600 held without charge or trial, often prosecuted in military courts.
