Video footage from October 20th shows an Israeli settler assaulting a Palestinian woman harvesting olives in Al-Mughayyer, a village north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Since 2023, Israeli settler violence has surged across the occupied territories. According to Al Jazeera, there have been more than 311 settler attacks in Nablus, 410 in Ramallah, and 362 in Al-Khalil (Hebron).
This physical violence is reinforced by state-backed policies aimed at uprooting and displacing Palestinians from their land. Earlier this year, a majority of Israeli lawmakers voted in favour of annexing the West Bank.
Even when settlers kill Palestinians on camera, they are rarely punished. Israeli settler Yinon Levi, filmed shooting at Awdah Hathaleen, was later released without charges — a stark reminder of the impunity that defines Israel’s apartheid system.
